A Few of My Favorite Things Give Away

In the past couple of months I’ve attended some fun events where I’ve learned about great products. I thought it’d be great to share these with you.

I got a chance to learn about and try some of OXO‘s products at Eat Write Retreat. The cherry pitter (hello, it is cherry season!), and mini chopper are huge time savers.

I also attended a cocktail reception that featured some of this year’s NASFT’s Sofi (Specialty Outstanding Food Innovation) Silver Award Winners. At this event I sampled Kitchen Table Bakers Parmesan Crisps, and WOW’s Lemon Burst Cookies. The crisps are great for snacking. The also make for a sophisticated appetizer topped with whipped goat cheese, prosciutto, and fresh figs. I sometimes crumble them over caesar salad. The lemon burst cookies are great crumbled over yogurt or ice cream. They would also be perfect for making individual triffles since the cookies are soft and would go great with custard. What I liked most about both of these is that they are both Gluten Free! I was happy to find two great products that I could recommend to my gluten-free friends.

For a while I’ve been looking for the perfect, old school pie plate. I finally found the ones below from Anchor Hocking. They are not easy to find in stores, but they are available online. They make the best pie because the crust bakes evenly and you can monitor browning because they are glass.

  56. I SO want the Cherry Pitter. Our cherry tree finally grew big enough to yield enough cherries for a pie, and I borrowed one from my daughter, which just happened to be the very one you’re giving away, and it worked great.
