Share Our Strength’s Great American Bake Sale DC April 26th 2-6pm at the Washington Post Building

I am so excited to be participating in this year’s Share Our Strength’s Great American Bake Sale that Mrs. Wheelbarrow is putting together. This is a national effort that encourages Americans to host bake sales in their communities to support the No Kid Hungry Campaign. You can visit GreatAmericanBakeSale.org for more information.

WHEN: Thursday, April 26th from 2-6pm
WHERE: The Washington Post building, first floor at 1150 15th St. NW
FUNDRAISING FOR: Share our Strength’s Great American Bake Sale (The No Kid Hungry Campaign)

We are only two weeks away! So this weekend I will be planning my contribution. My list of options includes macarons, alfajores, blue cheese thins, and cherry chocolate chip granola. Any other ideas? ;O)

Area food bloggers will be bringing tons of delicious baked goods, please come take them off our hands!!

If you would like to participate you can contribute items for the bake sale, and/or you can volunteer to be a helper during the sale. Leave a comment below and I will send you more information.

This year, nearly 1 in 5 children across the country will struggle with hunger. That’s more than 16 million kids. Funds raised through the D.C. Food Bloggers Bake Sale will be used to support Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign, that aims to end childhood hunger in America. No Kid Hungry works to surround kids facing hunger with nutritious food where they live, learn and play.

I will be volunteering at the sale, can’t wait to see you there!!

I have loved cooking and baking since I was 5 years old. It was the one activity that I would share with all my extended family. Like most people, I love traveling. I love visiting the markets, exploring unknown ingredients, and bringing them back home with me for inspiration. I find that recipes with simple and pure ingredients yield the best results.

  1. So nice to meet you at the Bake sale. My family thoroughly enjoyed snacking on the macarons, chocolate cherry granola and alfajores. I am hoping the recipes are on your website. Again, it was delightful to meet you and to contribute to an awesome fundraiser.

    1. Also, I didn’t find a recipe for the alfajores on your website. Would you be willing to share it? Thank you for the great effort for the bake sale.
